SSC conducts SSC CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level) Exam annually to recruit candidates for the following four posts: a) Postal Assistants/Sorting Assistants or PA/SA; b) Data Entry Operator or DEO; c) Lower Divisional Clerk or LDC; d) Court Clerk
Eligibility: Candidates applying for SSC CHSL 2018 must fulfill the eligibility criteria as announced by SSC. While the eligibility varies as per the posts, there are few criteria applicable for all positions:
- Education qualification: Applicants should have passed class XII, intermediate or an equivalent exam from an institute recognised by the State or Centre.
- Age limit: Applicants should be within the age group of 18-27 years
Selection Procedure: The selection procedure of SSC CHSL comprises three parts - computer based test (Objective test), descriptive test and skill test. The skill test is conducted only for selective posts. Candidates who qualify the Computer Based Test (CBT) will be called for the descriptive test. Final selection of candidates will be made on the basis of Computer based Written Examination (Tier-I) and Descriptive Paper (Tier-II). Allotment of candidates to the different (user) departments will be made on the basis of merit.
